La Aquarelle Inspiration Box

Hi Bridget here again for the March Design Team projects.
Today I had a play with La Aquarelle and made myself an inspiration box..a place for me to store pretty quotes or anything motivational.

This range is so playful as it caters for the mixed media people and those of us who just love anything pretty. The range has some beautiful metal embellishments as well as intricate die cut pieces, dies for all tastes and beautiful card sentiments already done for you.
Lets jump right into it

For the base of the exploding box we need a piece of white cardstock at 12x12”. Score at 4” & 8” on both sides.

On the four outside corners cut a diagonal line from the inside corner to the outside edge. Fold in on all the score lines to get a good crease.

Using any of the papers in the paper pad cut 4 squares at 3 ¾”. I am using 2 different papers. Cut the squares down the middle diagonally.

Attach them to the matching flaps on the box base.
To create the pockets tape down the bottom edge of each side of the box.

Decorate the outside of the box with papers from the pad that you like. As this is my inspiration box I chose 4 of the inspiration cards which appealed to me and attached them to the outside.

To create the lid for the box cut a piece of white cardstock 6 1/8” x 6 1/8”. Score at 1” on all 4 sides.
Cut out a small slither from 4 corners as per the pic.

Fold in the edges and tape down the flaps. Decorate with whichever La Aquarelle papers you like.

The last step I did was to create some tags for the pockets for me to write down pretty quotes etc on. The perfect die for this is from the Enchanted Tea Party collection. I cut 4 of these and trimmed a little off the bottom to allow it to fit into the pockets.

That’s the Inspirational Explosion Box all done. I hope you enjoyed playing along with me and will give this project a go.
