Christmas Card Made Simple

Easy Christmas Card by Bridget Louw

Hi Bridget here again with my last Christmas card for 2013. This one is super quick and easy to make thanks to the amazing range from Couture Creations products.

The card measures 5” high x 5.5” wide.

The first step is to cut some marker blending card with the largest die in the set C0723049 Nesting Dies: Victorian Rectangles

Stamp the Christmas image you have chosen on the shape and colour as desired. Put the image back into the die and lightly sponge/chalk all over. Once you take it out of the die again their will be a very pretty white border around it.

The next step is to cut the layer to go behind the stamped image. For this I put the die on my patterned paper and cut around it with a craft knife, that way you can create a shadow layer just slightly larger than the actual die cut.

Using some patterned paper I cut 2 layers for my card and punched them with a border punch.

I stamped a sweet Christmas sentiment onto a pice of card I had cut using C0723050 Fleur de Frame Die Set.

Tie a piece of ribbon across your two panels after assembly, and add a bow.

Using C0721963 Foam mounting Tape I attached the stamped image and the sentiment to my card.

Super quick, super easy.

Shadow Box Card

Shadow Box Card by Bridget Louw

Hi Bridget here with my last card tutorial for 2013. This one is super quick and easy to make thanks to the amazing range from Couture Creations products.

The card measures 5” high x 8.5” wide.

Cut 2 pieces of base car at 5” x 8.5” Score both pieces at 1”, 1 ¾” 6 ¾” and 7”

From 2 different patterned papers cut the decorative panels for the front and inside of the card, 4 ¾’ x 4 5/8”.

The pink panels measure 7/8” x 4 7/8”.

Line up the 2nd largest die (from the C0723044 Nesting Dies: Oval set) in the center panel of the card base and cut out a window. Do the same with the front decorative panel and glue all patterned paper panels down.

Stamp an image on marker blending card and colour as desired. Cut the image out using the same oval die.
Line this up on the back panel, aligning it with the cut out window.

The last step before the final assembly is to die cut one Sophia Premium Intricutz Die Collection Clements CO723500 from a colour of your choice and decorate with Couture Creations Pearls.

To adhere the from panel to the back panel, fold your score lines then put some double sided tape just on the 1” panels on the left and right of the card, stick these panels to the same ones on the back.

Using C0723049 Nesting Dies: Victorian Rectangles cut out the smallest die, stamp a sentiment on it and adhere it with C0721963 Foam mounting Tape

And that is it, your card is all done, in no time at all.

The card measurements are:
Cream Cardstock Embossed panel  6 ½” x 4 7/8”
Red Layer 6 3/4”x 5”
Base piece measures 10 ¼” x 6 7/8” scored at 5 1/8”

Using the Wrapped in Joy Premium Embossing Folder Collection Joyful Wishes, emboss the cream panel. Attach it to the red piece using double sided tape.

To make the Christmas Tree, using C0723042 Nesting Dies: Square cut out the largest 4 squares using green paper of your choice.

Fold the paper as per the diagram below. When you have folded all four squares push the point into the bottom of the pieces in ascending order. Cut a small piece of paper to simulate the tree trunk.

Hi Bridget here and I am so excited to show you this super easy tri-fold card to make using an assortment of gorgeous Couture Creations products.

The card measures 4”x6” when closed.
Step-by-Step

Step 1
Place 6” x 12" piece of cardstock horizontally in your Scoring tool.
Score at 2”, 4”, 8” and 10”.

Step 2
Turn cardstock a ¼ turn.
Along the long edge, measure in 2” .

Make a slit with a craft knife between the score marks at 2” and 10”. Repeat on the other long side.

Step 3
Fold card as pictured.

Step 4
To decorate cut pieces of paper to cover your base pieces.
I used the C0723044 Nesting Dies: Oval & C0723045 Nesting Dies: Scalloped Oval for the front and embossed the plain oval with Wrapped in Joy Premium Embossing Folder Collection Sugraplum Bell (C0723603).

Peace at Christmas Card

Peace at Christmas Card by Bridget Louw

Hi Bridget here again with another quick and easy project to make, using an array of wonderful Couture Creations products.

For those of you who have seen a few of my Couture Creations projects know I am nuts about white-on-white cards. I think they are so lovely and showcase the dies and embossing folders so beautifully. This year’s collection of Christmas themed embossing folders by Couture Creations, Wrapped in Joy are no exception. The one I chose to use today is C0723594 Peace and Joy Embossing Folder.

The card measurements are:
White Cardstock Embossed panel 6 5/8”x 4 5/8”
Silver Glitter Cardstockl 6 3/4”x 4 3/4”
Base piece measures 7” x 10” scored at 5”

Using the Peace and Joy Embossing Folder, emboss the white panel.

Attach it to the glitter piece using double sided tape.

The next step is to cut out the small die from C0723050 Fleur de Frame Die Set and stamp your Christmas sentiment on it with silver ink. Stick it onto the embossed panel using C0721963 Foam mounting Tape

I was fortunate enough to have the perfect satin white ribbon with a silver edge which matched the colour scheme of the card perfectly. I made a double bow and placed it above the sentiment.

Once all pieces are attached to each other, stick it to the card base using double sided tape.

ANY of the Wrapped in Joy Embossing Folders will work for this style of cards, so try them all.

Christmas Layout using Sophie Dies

Christmas Layout by Bridget Louw

Hi Bridget here and I am so excited to show you this super easy layout to make using an assortment of gorgeous Couture Creations dies.

The layout is a traditional 12x12 layout and uses just 3 pieces of cardstock and some off cuts of paper you may have left over from previous Christmas layouts you may have done.

I used the C0723042 Nesting Dies: Square for the photo mats along the bottom and popped the photos up using C0721963 Foam Mounting Tape.

The Precision Trimmer by Couture Creations cuts the narrow strips beautifully, unlike other trimmers which seem to end up completely skew.

The best part of doing this layout was finding an excuse to crack open my new Intricutz Die. The one I used under the poinsettia is Trudon (C0723499) from the Sophia Collection. It will definitely become one of my “go to” dies as it is just so elegant and delicate.

By combining the dies and embossing folders on my cards and layouts I am spending almost no money on embellishments anymore as the dies etc give more than enough elements to my projects that I do not need to add anything else.

Acetate Card

Acetate Card by Bridget Louw

Hi Bridget here, making an old favourite using acetate and some wonderful Couture Creations products.

Cut a piece of acetate 5.5” x 11” scored at 5 ½”
For the punched border you will need a piece 2 ½” x 5 ½” Score in half length-ways and punch with your favourite punch.

From the Nesting Dies: Scallop Square (C0723043) I cut the 2nd largest scalloped square from patterned paper twice. I stamped my image onto white Copic Card and cut out the second largest square from the Nesting Dies: Square (C0723042).

I then coloured the eimage with Copic Markers.

To assemble, layer the Square onto the scalloped square using some Double Sided Tape (C0721984).
Because the card has an acetate base you will have to glue the 2nd scalloped square on the inside of the card to hide the back of the paper on the front.

Glue the punched border piece on the spine of the card.
Decorate the front of the card with Couture Creations adhesive backed rhinestones in a coordinating colour.

Voila..all done!
